Investigating the Effect of Soil Layering on Soil-structure Interaction under Seismic Load

Considering soil layering is a crucial and effective issue in investigating the seismicity of structures. However, previous studies have not examined presence rock layer soft soil. So, present paper, effect on forces displacements created low-and mid-rise steel moment frame was investigated. Thus, several numerical calculations were performed 12 different sizes layers at three depths. Finite element models analyzed using ABAQUS Software considering interaction structure Results showed that value force displacement depends frequency structure, soil-structure system, dominant earthquake frequency, weight, stiffness structure. Two new parameters are defined linear relationship with displacement. show thickness length affect Also, may be reliable increase shear by up to 27%, axial 10%, 19%. The more than increases lateral 31% relative vertical foundation 59%.
